Built in 2015, Stoney Nakoda Telecom (SNT) is a 100% Nation owned and operated network and business delivering high speed Internet, TV and phone services across the Morley, Eden Valley & Bighorn reserve areas of the Stoney Nakoda First Nation.
SNT has achieved and surpassed its initial mandate and vision – to provide high speed internet service to unserved and underserved households located across the Stoney Nakoda First Nation. Today, SNT serves 800+homes as well as dozens of businesses and government facilities with 50Mbps – 1Gbps+ internet services, keeping our Nation connected in today’s fast-paced digital world.
2015
Since the original network construction of Stoney Nakoda Telecom in 2015, we
Successfully applied for and received funding from both the Alberta Final Mile Rural Connectivity Initiative and Treaty 7 Economic Development Fund to build more towers and expand into unserved areas in Morley & Eden Valley.
Were awarded $2.8M in Federal Funding through the Universal Broadband Fund to add new network towers to service Rabbit Lake, Ghost Lake and Benchlands, as well as to upgrade all tower equipment to offer the Universal Service Objective throughout Morley & Eden Valley.
Were awarded $3M in Federal Funding through the Universal Broadband Fund to build a fibre to the home network to service the Bighorn reserve area.

Amalgamating our telecommunications brands under Bearspaw Networks, we will continue to
expand our service footprint across both Northern and Southern Alberta and beyond with the
mission of connecting the un-connected and under-connected across Canada with fast, reliable and
affordable high speed internet services.
